Profile

In A Nutshell

"I regard myself as the ‘ultimate Malaysian’ being, racially, one quarter Malay, one quarter Indian, one quarter Chinese and one quarter Bugis. This mixed race background has given me a unique insight and feel for the various elements of Malaysia’s unique heritage, culture and cuisine(s). Being so ‘campur-campur’ myself, it was somewhat natural to call the two restaurants that I successfully established and ran ‘Champor-Champor’. They were both an expression of myself, my art and my cuisine."
